Whether you are a student, faculty member, practicing health professional, member of an agency/organization, or a citizen activist interested in issues related to vulnerable elders, you may benefit from accessing the educational opportunities available from the H-GEC Website.
The H-GEC offers a variety of course topics including elder mistreatment, disaster planning, how to teach about elder abuse, health literacy, caregiver stress and burnout and others. They include self-study modules, recorded lectures and Webinars lasting from 1 to 3 hours in length, case studies, quizzes at the end of selected modules or pre-post tests and listings of useful website links and resources.
Participants in these courses may elect to view selected topics, or may become engaged in a 40 hour course of study that offers a certificate upon successful completion. Many of the topics have continuing education for nurses attached.
