Through its efforts to strengthen the availability of learning opportunities at the "real world" level, the H-GEC partners with various organizations through formal Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and informal alliances. These partnerships allow for learners access to unique learning opportunities that might otherwise not be available.
- The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services allows H-GEC learners to attend Adult Protective Services Ride-Alongs which greatly increases the student's appreciation of the plight of many of the elder population.
- The Harris County Institute of Forensic Science participates fully with the H-GEC in promoting educational programs, especially those pertaining to premature elder deaths, allowing H-GEC learners to attend the Harris County Elder Abuse Fatality Review Team meetings as a learning opportunity.
- The Houston Financial Abuse Specialists Team (H-FAST) presents opportunities for learners to attend monthly H-FAST meetings where experts in financial abuse meet to discuss and provide consultation on matters of financial exploitation of elders.
- The Long Term Care Ombudsman's Program, the United Way of Greater Houston, The Harris County Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the American Red Cross are but a few of the other agencies that the H-GEC has formed alliances with.
